It’s not about the yoga.
If you know me, you might be surprised to see those words from me. You might know that I am ALL about yoga. But not for the sake of doing yoga. Not to be able to do poses. Not to get to the point where I can do shoulder stands or put my leg behind my head or sit in lotus pose for hours. That’s not the goal or the purpose. It’s about being able to sleep well and feel strong and steady on my feet to prevent a fall. Feeling balanced physically and mentally. Finding energy when I’m exhausted and calm when I’m anxious, and being able to recognize which of those I need at a particular time. It’s about focusing my mind when it’s foggy. Knowing my body better. Practicing self-compassion instead of criticizing myself for not having the perfectly effective fitness routine (or body or eating habits or…..or ……) And being more kind and compassionate toward others. If you are seeking better sleep, balance, and focus, more energy, less anxiety, and more self-kindness and compassion, I invite you to consider yoga. Slow, mindful yoga. It’s about finding greater peace, strength, and resilience within yourself. Comments are closed.

Until I considered yoga, I was always searching for the thing that would make me feel good in my body, mind, and soul. As I age, I want to embrace life and feel well every day.
