Private Sessions

Why consider private yoga?

  • You can feel safe and supported in a confidential setting.
  • Postures and sequences are customized to your needs, desires, and goals.
  • It’s an efficient use of your time and resources because we’re focused on you.
  • They have the greatest potential to lead to the changes that you seek in how you feel and move in your body.

Private yoga is for people who:

  • are ready to invest in their well-being and vitality.
  • may be new to yoga or haven’t found a good fit in group classes.
  • are willing to commit to a few sessions – transformation takes time.
  • are interested in the internal experience of yoga and not in perfect and/or difficult poses.

Chair yoga or yoga on the mat?

We can explore the possibilities for you. This experience is about meeting you and your body where they are right now, and taking into consideration your lifestyle, wishes, and goals. We fit the poses to the body, NOT the body to the poses.

How to get started:

  • We schedule a free “discovery session” (about 30 minutes)  to:
    • talk about your goals with yoga
    • do an initial inquiry into your current strengths and physical challenges.
    • experience this style of yoga and my teaching style to see if they are a good fit for you.

  • I’ll make a recommendation for what we might do together, and then we discuss a schedule.

Please note:  It usually takes several sessions of yoga before you start to notice changes. Slow, mindful yoga does not offer a “quick fix,” because we’re trying to change patterns of breath and movement that may have been present for a long time.  There are no guarantees that you’ll achieve your desired results, but it is much more likely that if we work together on a plan of what we want to do and over how many sessions, you’ll see some changes and feel greater well-being and vitality.

Schedule:
I have several slots on my calendar, and we can discuss what works best for you within those parameters.

Your investment in your customized yoga practice:

  • A single one-hour private session is $95.
  • Package of 3 one-hour sessions:  $210.  ($70 per session.)

Pay by cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, or credit card.  (Credit card payments are online.)

Location:

Online via Zoom. You’ll need a computer or smart phone and a camera so I can see you when you’re on the mat (if we’re doing floor work) and when you’re seated/standing – though the camera can be adjusted as needed.

More About Me:

I help people who want to age well and wisely by learning safe and supportive yoga practices that can be done throughout their life span.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with advanced certifications (E-RYT200, RYT-500).  I have taught yoga since 2014 and have logged over 1000 hours of teaching and over 500 hours of advanced training, including yoga for the nervous system, yoga for healthy aging, and yoga for cancer survivors.  I specialize in slow, mindful yoga that supports the brain, body and spirit.

My teaching is informed by the principles of therapeutic yoga and is in the Viniyoga style and tradition, which seeks to meet people where they are and support them in their wellness, using all of the tools of yoga.  I do not diagnose or treat illness or dysfunction; rather, my role is to support you in your wellness goals, using the tools of the yoga tradition.
