Yoga is an ancient system of wellness for the whole human being, that includes movement, breath, relaxation, and meditation.
Slow, Mindful yoga uses breath, slow movement with awareness, guided relaxation, and meditation to bring increased calm and focus to our mind and body. Its overall goal is to help you build skills of awareness, nervous system regulation, and balance in body and mind. Not “exercise” but “innercise.” Not a workout but a “work-in.”
Chair Yoga - is a special type of yoga that uses the chair as a support while seated or standing. It provides options that allow you to explore movement, breath, relaxation, and meditation while feeling safe in or with the chair. While it is especially helpful for people who would enjoy a yoga practice but don't feel comfortable getting down on the floor (and back up!), it is also great for people new to yoga who want to explore movement and breath in a way that feels easeful and non-intimidating.
Wise Chair Yoga - I like to call this "wise yoga" because this style of yoga, which comes from the Viniyoga tradition and is based on the principles of yoga therapy, taps into your natural wisdom - knowledge of your body, your life experience, and your current needs and condition.
